Café Zeppelin, Medellin

Café Zeppelin in Medellin reminded me a lot of cafés in Berlin. Maybe it’s the quirky decor or maybe it’s just the apfelstrudel and German sausage on the menu. This is a place to spend an afternoon of concentrated work. The place is big enough: they have 2 spaces with tables and couches indoors, and 2 terraces: one in the front and one in the garden. The menu offers all kinds of food and hot and cold drinks. I was there in the afternoon and it was very quiet, so I could concentrate well.

WiFi and power sockets

From my spot in the front room of the café the WiFi was a bit weak, however it was sufficient to do my work. Maybe the WiFI is better in the second room or in the garden. (If you know, please add a comment). Some tables are within reach of power sockets.

Café Zeppelin is opened from Monday to Friday from 11:30AM to 11PM, on Saturday and Sunday from 2PM to 11:30PM

Café Revolución, Medellin

Café Revolución is a small place in Laureles that just opened a few months ago. When I first entered I was immediately greeted very nicely by the owners. They are doing their very best to make you feel welcome and this really worked for me. The coffee is delicious, they get their high quality coffee from all over Colombia. The banana bread was incredible as well. I did no try out the complete menu, but I saw some great looking grilled sandwiches passing by…

WiFi and power plugs

I have been working here for an hour or two, well concentrated. The WiFi works excellent. I saw some tables with a power plug within reach. The tables are maybe a bit small to install yourself for a long time, but this is not the place to park yourself all day anyway. For one or two hours of well caffeinated, concentrated work this is the perfect spot though.

More info

Café Revolucion is opened from Monday to Friday from 10:30AM to 21:30PM and on Saturday from 10:30AM to 20:30PM. If you can’t spot the place right away: it’s behind the gas station.

Café Velvet
September 242014

Velvet is a Belgian owned cafe in Poblado, Medellin. Their specialty is, of course, chocolate! You can get very delicous hot chocolate and chocolate cake here, but coffee and sandwiches as well. The atmosphere is super relaxed, with jazz playing in the background. I found this the best spot to concentrate in El Poblado. There are power outlets at the bar and at the couch, so you can keep working longer than your battery lasts.

Pergamino Café in Medellin

During my stay in El Poblado in Medellin Pergamino was the place I kept coming back to. Many people told me that hey are famous for their great coffee, which they grow themselves! The coffee was indeed delicious.

WiFi and power sockets

The quality of the WiFI is very good. I could work and have video calls without any problem. Their WiFi connection is so strong that you can even use it from other cafes nearby. (Not a nice thing to do, but just to give you an idea). There are tables indoor and outdoor and if your laptop runs out of power you can sit at the bar to charge your laptop. I have to admit that this is not the most comfotable place to sit, but at least you can recharge.

More info about Pergamino Café

Pergamino is openen from Monday to friday from 8AM to 9PM, and Saturday from 9AM to 9PM. All in all, this is a great lively spot with really good coffee!
